Find Your Canvas with Paul Orich
An invitation to pause, reconnect, and bring your imagination to life. Let's color the neighborhood!
In The Neighborhood
The photos in the book are drawn by the author. They are quick sketches on graph paper and carefully redone later. Feel free to color them with any media-pencil, pen, watercolor, crayon, or collage. Add your own designs to make them personal. You can even pass the book around among your group to add designs and colors until it is finished, and you can hang the pictures up.
Meet Paul Orich
Paul Orich was a high school art teacher for seventeen years. Then he decided to take a break and became a full-time insurance agent. After ten years of selling. He made a doodle on his notepad during a class in Omaha. Although drawn in a very short time, it made him realize that it was the first time after a decade that he had a pen on paper for something that wasn't a signature. It was also in the same year that his taxman told him he was among the working poor. It made him go back to teaching at a junior high schoold for thirteen years.
"Since that day in Omaha, a doodle meant something special to him-an invitation to pause and to reconnect with himself using just a pen, some paper, and design elements of a dot, circle, lines and spaces."
